AU |Angsty Zidus yet again.|
The SOLDIER sighed as Tidus looked from him. The spoken words still had a tone to them even if they had be muttered. The tone wasn’t a pleasant one but he would have to simply just agree for now. It’s not like he was planning on kissing the other every time he saw him anyways but still he didn’t like having to agree so he did so mentally rather then aloud.
He could see reason for not wanting to be kissed though. After all that was what had caused their short separation. Going from being friends who were together almost always and then being separated for such a long period of time wasn’t something he’d like to deal with again.
The dog ears perked up at the question. He was glad that even if he’d somewhat messed up a few minutes back that the other was still willing to do something with him. Still Zack could tell the smile was forced so although his ears stayed up his tail was still rather then wagging.
“Anything in mind that you want to d—” He stopped as Tidus finally realized his ears. They had just gone up and once again they were down. Having the ears stroke though had them down for a different reason.
Now he had to hold back from nuzzling into being basically pet. He stepped back a bit to be able to resist. “It’s not some kink.” He pouted and turned to the side dramatically. “Some grayface thought it fun to take my nickname literally and gave me some ears and a tail.” In all honestly Zack didn’t even notice his ears were being used as a subject changer.
If anything, the change to his guise triggered a change in his behaviour as well, eliciting a chuckle from the blond’s lips. It was equally amusing to watch the other justify himself, when he had only meant to mock him gently in the first place.
Hands parting from the smooth edges of the warm fur he had been caressing moments earlier, he stretched his slender arms behind his nead, stifling a slight yawn. It was unlike him to be this weary (especially due to his tendency of getting a certain number of hours of sleep for his specialized blitzball training) but he had grown too edgy from their confrontation.
“Okay, I believe you.” He assured him, before trailing sapphire orbs over the SOLDIER’s adjusted appearance. A small smirk played on his lips as he gazed at the fidgety tail that was ever-so-tempting in the ace’s eyes.
(—He wouldn’t appreciate if I pulled on it, would he…)
Swinging both of his hands idly by his side, he turned to walk towards the centre of the city that had grown familiar with time. There were still some uncertainties here and there (he perhaps wasn’t best with direction, either) but he managed.
“Alright, then back to the city. Show me a place we’ve never been to before.” He grinned reassuringly at the older male; hopefully dissolving all of their previous discomfiture. “And no hiding the tail.”
